About

Born in Hamburg in 1971, Jan has been living throughout
Latin America for more than 20 years, turning his surroundings
into themes for his paintings. He lived in Mexico from 1996
to 2004, prior to moving to Brazil in 2005, where he resides
to the present. The great majority of his works are done in
open air and face to face with the model, using the nocturnal
urban landscapes and their residents as the main inspiration.
